System Administrators (and any user who has access to Firm Settings) can download a backup of all data stored in the account, at any time.
WHAT DOES THIS DOWNLOAD INCLUDE
This backup will pull the following information on separate .CSV spreadsheets, packaged inside a .ZIP file. (These files can be opened with programs like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and OpenOffice Calc.)
- Balance Adjustments
- Client Notes
- Clients
- Client User-Billing Rates
- Contacts
- Expenses
- Invoice Batches
- Invoice Projects
- Invoices
- Payments
- Payments Applied
- Project
- Project Log
- Project User-Billing Rates
- Time Entries
- Trust Accounting
- Users
HOW TO PERFORM THE BACKUP
To do this, please follow the instructions below:
- Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, then select "Settings".
- If you do not have access to Settings, you would need to contact your System Administrator to grant you these permissions.

- Click on the blue "Export Data" button at the top right of the screen.
- Click the "Create Zip File" link in the pop-up window that appears.
- Depending on your browser, you may be asked to either "Open" or "Save" to your computer.
- It may also automatically save your zip file in your "Downloads" folder.

- Once this download is complete, click on "Done" in the Export Data window.
- Note: The pop-up window will continue to say "Loading..." even after the download has finished. You will need to check the download itself, to verify whether it has been completed.
