How do I edit a payment?

If you are looking to edit a payment to change the totals or to apply to an invoice follow the steps below:

 

  1. Click on the Accounting tab
  2. Choose the desired client
  3. You will now see a list of all the credits (Payments and Credit Balance Adjustments) and debits (Invoices & Debit Balance Adjustments) that have occurred.
  4. Click the desired payment. You should find it by the amount in the Credit column, or by the word "Payment" in the Number column. The payment window will pop-up.
  5. Click the Edit button
  6. If the payment was applied to multiple invoices, you should first delete the applied line items. The balance on these invoices are automatically adjusted.
  7. Adjust the payment amount
  8. From the Invoice Number column, select the desired invoice
  9. Enter the desired amount to apply
  10. Click the Add button
  11. Repeat steps 8-10 for the other invoices you want this payment applied to
  12. Click Save when completed
