CONFIGURING LEDES EXPORTING
If you need to export to LEDES, please click here. Follow these steps to turn this feature on (if you have not already), and you will be ready to resume with this process!
PERFORMING THE EXPORT
Once setup is complete, you can then create a LEDES file for any invoice you've created. On the Invoice Details page you will see an Export button at the top.
Once you click to export to LEDES, you can choose the file type you need (LEDES 98B file is the standard export) and then click to Export then save it to your computer.
TIPS AND TROUBLESHOOTING FOR LEDES EXPORTING:
You may not need to delete your invoice! If you have updated any LEDES data information in our system, yet had previous existing invoices - you do not need to delete the invoices to export correctly. For example, say you already created and finalized an invoice for Client A, but did not have the Timekeeper ID field updated. Simply go to the User Profile and update the ID and then go to the invoice and Export. The ID will be captured from the User data upon Export.
*For some online portals, attorney rates in three decimal places will cause portal errors such as "The amount entered for the invoice total does not equal the sum of the line item total fields" when submitting. To avoid these errors please adjust attorney rates to whole numbers for submitting.
*Billing must be at the Project/Matter level for accurate export. Projects/matters must be created to invoice.
*If you utilize pipe delimiters (the "|" symbol) in your client/project/matter name or in descriptions, this will create additional empty columns in your LEDES files. These columns will cause errors when it's uploaded to your billing portal.
