Review Your Client Portal Settings
Now that you have Bill4Time Payments connected as your processor you will want to review your Client Portal Settings. If you are a System Admin with Firm Settings access follow the instructions below:
- Click on your name at the top of the screen
- Then click on Settings
- Click on the Payments & Client Portal sub-tab
Setting Options:
Send Automatic Invoice Notification Emails? Enabling this setting will automatically send out your invoices when they are finalized. If you find that you unfinalize your invoices often for review you may want to leave this set to "No".
Invoice Email Link Expiration - Options are 7, 14, 30, 45 and 60 days.
Allow clients to view their account history? - If "Yes" is selected, clients will be able to view their billing and payment history when logged into the client portal. Clients viewing invoices with Guest Access will not be able to review their history.
Display balances? - Setting this to "Yes" allows clients to see current account balance, as well as the remaining balance left to be paid on the invoice. This setting impacts your client reviewing their account within the client portal and the invoice sent via Guest Access. When ‘No’ is selected, your client will only be able to see the invoice total and amount remaining of the invoice.
Allow guest access? - Guest access allows clients to view and pay individual invoices without logging into the Client Portal. Requiring clients to log in to the Client Portal provides a more secure and enhanced experience. If you would like to receive payments without requiring your client to log into the portal - you will want to select "Yes".
Please note: If you have Guest Access enabled for your clients and are approved for Bill4Time Payments - any invoices you may have previously sent from Bill4Time will automatically have the "Pay Now" button properly linked to your operating account that you set up during the application process. When they click on that button they will have the option to pay the invoice amount, pay their entire balance, or designate an amount of their choosing.
Allow eCheck Payments? - This setting does not control the ability to allow eCheck options while on Bill4Time Payments.
Please click here for more information detailing inviting clients to the Client Portal.
