It is possible for a System Admin to delete Clients from the system; however, this is only an option when the Client doesn’t contain any information. This means all Notes, Accounting Entries, and Projects will need to be deleted from the Client.

Note: For auditing, tracking, billing purposes it may be best to simply disable the Client instead as once the information is Deleted it cannot be recovered. If you're wanting to disable a Client instead, click here for more information.
How to Delete a Client
- Click on the Clients tab from the main menu bar
- Select the Client you want to Delete
- Delete all Projects
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on a Project to open it
- Ensure that the Project is empty (see instructions in our article here) and click the blue ‘Delete’ button on the upper right side of the screen
- Repeat until all Projects are Deleted for that Client
- Delete all Closed Projects
- Go to the Projects tab from the main menu bar
- Click the blue ‘Show Filters’ link
- In the ‘Status:’ box choose ‘Closed’
- Look for the name of the Client in the ‘Client’ column and click the first one with that Client showing
- Click the blue ‘Delete’ button
- Click the blue ‘OK’ button
- Repeat until there are no more Closed Projects under the Client’s name in this section
- Delete all Payments and Adjustments
- From the Client page go to the ‘Accounting’ tab
- Click on any item marked ‘Payment’ or marked ‘Adjustment’ to open it
- Click the blue ‘Delete’ button
- When prompted click ‘Ok’
- Repeat until there are no more marked ‘Payment’ or marked ‘Adjustment’
- Delete all Trust Account entries
- From the Client page go to the ‘Trust Account’ tab
- On the right side of the page next to the word ‘Project:’ choose 'General Project Trust + All Project Trusts’ from the drop-down menu
- Click on the first entry
- Click the blue ‘Delete’ button
- When prompted click ‘OK’
- Repeat until there are no more entries in this section
- Delete all Notes
- From the Client page go to the ‘Notes’ tab
- Click the ‘X’ on the far right column of the first line
- When prompted click ‘Ok’
- Repeat until there are no more entries in this section
- Click the blue ‘Delete’ button on the upper right side of the screen
- When prompted click ‘OK’
