📤 How to Export Data from Rocket Matter
📁 Step 1: Choose the Data You Want to Export
🔹 Export Clients & Matters

Navigate to the "Contacts" or "Matters" tab.

Use the filters/search to find the data you want.

Click the gear icon or “Actions” dropdown.

Select “Export to Excel” or “Export to CSV.”

The system will download a spreadsheet with the relevant data.
🔹 Export Time & Expense Entries

Go to “Reports” > “Billing Reports” or “Time & Expenses.”

Select the appropriate report (e.g., Time Entry Report, User Billing Report, etc.).

Choose your date range and any relevant filters.

Click “Run Report”, then use the Export button to download in Excel or CSV format.
🔹 Export Invoices

Navigate to “Billing” > “Invoices.”

Use the filters to select invoices by client, date range, or status.

You may need to export from the “Invoice List” view or by using Reports > Invoice Listing.

Use the Export function to download in CSV or PDF format.
🔹 Export Trust or Operating Transactions

Go to “Reports” > “Ledger Report” or “Trust Accounting.”

Choose the account and date range.

Run the report and export the data to Excel or CSV.

Once exported:

Open the files in Excel or Google Sheets.

Review the columns to ensure they’re complete.

Retain Rocket Matter’s original Matter and Client IDs for accurate mapping to Bill4Time.
✅ Tips for a Successful Export

Exports are limited by user role—make sure you're logged in as an admin or account owner.

If you're switching systems, be consistent with naming conventions and IDs to avoid mismatches during import.
