Occasionally, your clients may overpay their invoices (either intentionally, or unintentionally). This can happen when your client sends you a paper check for more than they owe, or if they selected a different amount to pay via an online payment (rather than paying the actual invoice balance).
Please note: If your client overpaid via online payments (or made just a general payment to their account instead of a specific invoice), Bill4Time will not automatically apply those extra funds to their other invoices. You would need to locate those "Partially Applied" over-payments and manually apply them to other invoices yourself.
When this happens, you have two options:
- Applying the over-payment to their next (or another unpaid) invoice.
- Issuing a refund to your client.
